Peter Atkinson

This summer I am walking across America because of the experience I had praying and protesting outside of Dr. Carhart’s late term abortion clinic. Witnessing the loss of motherhood and the breakdown of self-worth in the most violent fashion possible struck me and resulted in my opening towards spending a summer doing this work. I hope to be able to witness to joy as an antidote to the darkness in our culture. Fr. Carron writes that Christianity is transmitted through envy, because someone sees something that they desire for a greater fullness of life. My purpose in walking is to witness, pray, and work to help bring people we meet to a greater awareness of the sacred nature of life.
